Small lentils, red in colour and split in halves with no discernible aroma and a slight bean-y flavour.
A common staples in South Asian cuisine, red split lentils are also known as "masoor dal". These lentils are soaked for a few hours, boiled with spices and served with basmati rice or naan bread.
Storage & Shelf Life
Store in a cool, dark pantry and these lentils should stay good for up to 2 years.
